SUMMARY:Building Community
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 28 \nWe are about building community and recognizing its deep necessity. In connection with one another\, we discover not just companionship\, but the shared strength\, wisdom\, and compassion that sustain our spirits. \nCommunity can sometimes feel abstract\, but we bring it into life through participation and presence. Events like our Holiday Fair\, or committees like our Social Concerns\, turn ideas into action\, offering a chance to meet others\, explore your gifts\, and shape the life of our congregation together. \nIn coming together\, we find that community is not just something we build—it is something that builds us. \nWe invite you to reflect: How might you bring your presence\, your gifts\, and your curiosity to help our community grow stronger\, deeper\, and more connected? \n\nService begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to participate in our worship experience. Service ends at 11 a.m.\, followed by coffee and fellowship. \nWe are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary

SUMMARY:Everyday Courage
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 5\nCourage doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s as simple as showing up for someone who needs support\, speaking a kind truth\, or taking one small step toward justice. In our Unitarian Universalist community\, we honor the quiet acts of bravery that shape our daily lives. The choices to live with integrity\, compassion\, and hope. \nWe believe that everyday courage is not about fearlessness\, but about living into our values even when the path feels uncertain. It grows when we stand together\, encourage one another\, and practice love in action.

SUMMARY:Finding Home On Stolen Land
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 12\nLed by Rev. Jo Murphy \nOften in Unitarian Universalist churches\, we struggle with our relationship to the land our churches sit upon. Though we work to acknowledge the land\, we don’t always follow through with indigenous solidarity. This hurts our chance at fully belonging while recognizing the complications of any home. Come explore these complications in worship and what it takes to make any land home. \nRev. Jo is the Executive Director for UU Mass Action and\, with passion and zest\, mobilizes and organizes with the many UU Mass Action campaigns. Jo is also kept busy as a chaplain at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and caring for her 1-year-old. She loves liberation\, the ocean\, and a fine chicken dinner.

SUMMARY:Overcoming Fear
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 19\, 2025\nFear is something we all struggle with; there’s the fear of being alone\, not being safe\, being a burden\, being dangerous to others\, being a part of an unjust society\, or being unwell. Sometimes we are lonely\, sometimes we are not safe\, sometimes we are a burden\, maybe we were dangerous to others at times\, maybe we are a part of an unjust society\, we will not always be well\, and this causes pain. When we obsess about the pain\, because\, let’s face it\, pain takes up a lot of space in our minds\, we can really be taken for a ride. What is painful becomes a catastrophe. \nHow do we keep what is naturally painful from becoming a catastrophic event? Join us as we delve into this question as we learn better to live into it.   \n\n\n\nService begins at 10 a.m.

SUMMARY:Potluck\, and Movie
DESCRIPTION:Rick Steves’ Fascism in Europe\nIn this one-hour special\, Rick Steves travels back a century to learn how fascism rose and then fell in Europe — taking millions of people with it. Rick traces fascism’s history from its roots in the turbulent aftermath of World War I\, when masses of angry people rose up\, to the rise of charismatic leaders who manipulated that anger\, the totalitarian societies they built\, and the brutal measures they used to enforce their ideology. You’ll see the horrific consequences: genocide and total war. And we’ll be inspired by the stories of those who resisted. Along the way\, visit poignant sights throughout Europe relating to fascism\, and talk with Europeans whose families lived through those times. Our goal: to learn from the hard lessons of 20th-century Europe\, and to recognize that ideology in the 21st century. (Length: 56 minutes. Release: August 30\, 2018) \nView the trailer. \nUse the “I’ll Be Attending” button below to let us know that you are coming and what dish you will be bringing. \nI’ll Be Attending\n

SUMMARY:You Are Enough
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 16th\nYou Are Enough: Beyond Scarcity Mentality\nLed by Rev. F. Vernon Wright V \nScarcity mentality is the idea that there is just not enough\, and in fact you are not enough. Bad theology\, together with the ideology of empire has much to contribute to this. Tara Brach\, author and founder of the Washington DC Insight Meditation Center talks about how to overcome this “Trance of Unworthiness”. Join us this week as together we point to the “red flags” of the trance of unworthiness and scarcity mentality\, so that we can better embrace a life of gratitude\, mindful of grace. \n\nService begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to participate in our worship experience.
