Overcoming Toxic Polarization

The partisan divide is growing ever wider. Polarization and culture wars are ripping many of us apart from our extended family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers. As we retreat to our respective corners, we tend to surround ourselves with news sources and other people whose opinions reflect our beliefs. Most of us are less willing to spend time with those on the “other side.” How can we bridge what divides us to find common ground? Social psychologist Peter Coleman offers ideas for navigating and healing the difficult divides and entrenched conflicts many of us now find in our homes, workplaces and communities. Let’s explore strategies to break free from the current toxic cycle of mutual contempt.

Worship is at 10 am Sunday mornings. If you prefer — or if you are feeling sick — please log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.
