The Science of Awe

Emotions have not been studied scientifically for very long. The first studies centered around the emotions of fight or flight. This had an impact on our understanding of physiology, psychology, and social theory. But recently scientists have been exploring a very different emotion, namely, awe. The physiology, psychology, and social implications of awe lead us on a very different journey. Drawing from Dachner Keltner’s seminal work, we will lift up the emotion of awe and explore some of its implications for Murray.

Worship is at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. If you prefer — or if you are feeling sick — please log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.

We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary.
