Flower Communion

Led by Rev. F. Vern Wright V

Join us this Sunday for a meaningful, upbeat, family-friendly, inter-generational service. Festive music will be led by the Murray Musicians. You are invited to bring a flower, but, if you forget one, there will be flowers available so you can participate in the service.

Though I will not be delving into too many details, as this is an inter-generational service, adults should know that Norbert Čapek, founder of the Unitarian Church of Czechoslovakia and inventor of the flower communion, was martyred for his beliefs at Dachau in 1942. We, who have our eyes on the rise of fascism today, are grateful for his testimony and courage.

Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.

We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary

Sermon: Freedom to Engender Gender

March 30, 2025
As you know Trans rights are under attack right now. Trans rights are human rights however, and where one person’s human rights suffer, all our human rights suffer. At the heart of this issue is the social construction of gender. If others deny us the freedom to discern for ourselves how we wish to construct gender, than we cannot truly know freedom. Even the ancients knew this.
