Food Pantry, new location, new look

Oct 27, 2022 | Food Pantry, News

Photo of food pantry new shelvesLast spring the Food Pantry swapped its space with the Thrift Shop sorting area. The main reason was to make the Thrift Shop more efficient by having their sorting and storage right next to the sales area. As part of the move, we also wanted the help of Food Pantry to be more efficient and inviting. Heavy-duty shelving was added in the back room along with improved air conditioning. Most noticeably the Food Pantry team gave the distribution room the feel of a grocery store.

We are looking for a few good people to volunteer at the food pantry at least once per month but up to four times per month on a Monday or Thursday morning from 9:00 am – 12:00 Noon. An orientation is provided. The Food Pantry offers people living in poverty the opportunity to pick up food and grooming essentials for free. The choice of responsibilities includes being present to assist or answer questions by the shoppers, registration into an electronic database, and sorting and stocking food. Contact the Church Office.
