Art of Pure Attention

Sunday, March 1, 2026
Led by Rev. F. Vernon Wright V
As a person who has struggled with ADHD-like symptoms, meditation helped me better prioritize what the present moment required. I could better complete tasks I didn’t care for. I was more dependable. But I also learned attention could be like a clear blue sky–and thoughts and distractions like the clouds floating through.
Ralph Waldo Emerson was the first in our tradition to really address this reality in the UU tradition. Hinduism and Buddhism also have much to contribute. If I ask you to pay attention to something, but that something is just another projection of another ego, of what use is it?
Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to participate in our worship experience. Service ends at 11 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship.
We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary
