Love at the Center of Islam

Sunday, November 1, 2026
Led by Rev. F. Vernon Wright V
Location: Sanctuary
This church year, I will be focusing on how love is at the center of many important religious traditions. We will be kicking off the project with Islam. With so much attention focused on radical extremist forms of Islam, it’s easy to lose sight of the loving kindness at the core of the tradition. I have asked for input from my brother Zacharia Wright, a Koranic Sufi and eminent scholar of Sub-Saharan Islamic studies at Northwestern University. I hope to have something exciting to share with you that might in some ways inform your own ethics or spiritual understanding.
Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to participate in our worship experience. Service ends at 11 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship.
We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary
