Religious Exploration Program
In focusing on Religious Exploration, Murray Unitarian Universalist Church affirms its desires to offer opportunities for everyone in the congregation to grow and learn and to seek their own path towards faith formation. We adhere to no creed or dogma, but are bound by our shared values which are rooted in love. Our programming provides developmentally appropriate opportunities to explore topics that include: Unitarian Universalist heritage, morals and ethics, community activism, social justice, anti-oppression, healthy relationships and sexuality, philosophy of world religions, spiritual practices, self-care, and living our values.
Our spiral curriculum allows children to revisit topics as they age to allow them to explore these with new insight and experience. As children grow into mature teenagers and young adults, they are encouraged to take part in committee work and participate as active members of the congregation.
In addition to Sunday service, adults benefit from meaningful discussions, workshops, and other events that contribute to spiritual growth, lifelong learning, and a deep understanding of the world in which we live.
Unitarian Universalism is a welcoming faith that encourages each person to wonder and ask questions about the mysteries of life. Our covenant calls for a “free and responsible search for truth and meaning” and we appreciate the opportunity to explore individually and collectively who we want to be in this world. We look forward to journeying with you.
