The February 25th topic is: “A Religion for the Future”
Based on a chapter from the book Reason and Reverence by William R. Murry.
Five characteristics for future religions:
- Affirms that human beings are an integral part of nature
- Affirms humankind’s responsibility to preserve and sustain the natural world
- Must take seriously the implications for religion of the remarkable discoveries of modern natural and human sciences
- Recognizes the importance of reason, reverence, and the human ability to think critically and constructively
- Must affirm those values that make our lives more fully human.
Is this what Murray UU Church should look forward to?
