Examine Your Programing

Led by Rev. F. Vern Wright V

Our first awareness probably stretches back to the womb. All of our needs were met- all things were taken care of. And then, well, what a shock!

There may have been times when all of our needs weren’t met. We experienced trauma. Maybe it was being able to vocalize a special cry at first, but it developed into a need to appear perfect, be a rebel, be a sneak, be invisible, or be the angry toughie. Whatever it was, we all learned how to develop emotional programs for happiness. These programs work, to an extent. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have them.

Eventually, we learn that they might hinder as much as they help, and they become chains in some instances. Like a computer program, it takes over our life as much as any string on a puppet might.

Becoming the force of love you are truly meant to be requires us all to develop an awareness of our emotional programming. Thank it for its great service as you assure it that it can relax, that it can maybe even set you free to make wiser choices.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the potential for greater being no longer shackled by the emotional programs for happiness.

Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.

We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary
