Things Your Shadow Knows: How Learning to Accept Your Shadow Can Lead to Growth

Led by Rev. Vern Wright

As we approach Halloween, it is a good time to explore your shadow. Carl Jung proposed that the shadow is the side of yourself you are most uncomfortable with and most likely to suppress.

It is kind of like the thing you most hate in others and are most ashamed of in yourself. Mindfulness of what it truly is – acceptance of how it has aided you in the past, and a developing sense of how it can contribute to your growth – may help you become more whole and actualized.

I invite you to think about this and wear something that reminds you of your shadow. I will give time in the sermon for people to playfully share elements of their shadow.

Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.

We are a certified Welcoming Congregation and Green Sanctuary
