“U.U. Characters of Campassion”
It’s a multi-generational Halloween service! Murrayites of all ages are invited (but not required) to come dressed as your favorite Unitarian, Universalist or Unitarian Universalist person/being whose story or values inspire you. Or come as a character who courageously inspires you to live one of our Unitarian Universalist principles. Who will you come as? Civil War nurse and founder of the Red Cross, Clara Barton? Maybe Universalist minister John Murray? Or Judith Murray, one of America’s first feminists? Or abolitionist and Underground Railroad supporter Rev. Theodore Parker? Or Henry David Thoreau living in harmony with nature on Walden Pond? Or perhaps Louisa May Alcott or one of her “Little Women” characters? Or another storybook character that brings our U.U. Principles to life? Or Superman/Wonder-Woman fighting for justice for all? Or your favorite Murray Church person living their values? Or you being your awesome self? The list is endless. This engaging and inspiring service for all ages will be led by Robi Altamari, our Director of Lifespan Religious Education. And we may include an optional dance party/parade of compassionate characters.
We will gather for in-person worship at 10:00 a.m. in our sanctuary or, if you prefer — or if you are feeling sick — please continue to log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.
If you are unvaccinated or are not comfortable gathering in person at this time, please plan to log on to Zoom to see the live streaming worship service.
