What to Expect

We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. for Worship and Church School. Our Sunday worship services begin with a Musical Reflection at 9:55 a.m. – which is also the time when we ring our bell. If you arrive at church after 10:00 am. please enter the Sanctuary quietly. If you (or your family) would like to serve as a Greeter or Chalice Lighter on a Sunday morning, please let an usher know. As a courtesy to all, we ask that you please turn off your cell phone (or leave it in your car or at home) before entering the Sanctuary so that we can preserve a peaceful environment during Sunday worship.

Our Religious Services are held in the Sanctuary on Sundays at 10 a.m. from September through June with lay-led services offered during the summer months. Pulpit presentations, guest speakers, and special presentations, which offer a fresh perspective on religious, ethical, or social topics, are featured regularly. We have numerous rites of passage (dedications, marriages, union ceremonies, memorial services) held at Murray Church throughout the year. To arrange such a ceremony, please contact the church office. Large print orders of Service are also available at the back of the sanctuary, please ask an usher or greeter for one.

Lay-led summer services are held every Sunday at 10:00 am. in the sanctuary. Summer services are a unique opportunity for members and friends to share their interests and spiritual practices in a less formal, small group setting.  Click here for a list of the summer services we are offering this year.

Our diverse and inclusive congregation is a “Welcoming Congregation” to bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people.

Music adds a rich dimension to our worship services. Our Director of Music, Dennis Ferguson, provides a music program that stimulates and challenges the congregation. The Adult Choir offers an impressive range of solo and group songs. The Murray Musicians frequently contribute to our services.

Following the service, members and friends gather for coffee and conversation in the Unity Room. We serve Equal Exchange coffee and sell Equal Exchange cocoa products during the coffee hour each Sunday. Every purchase benefits: farming co-operatives that use sustainable farming methods, the Equal Exchange organization (a local company), Murray Church and you!

Hearing Devices Available for anyone who may have trouble hearing our worship services in the Sanctuary, We have electronic hearing devices at the rear of the Sanctuary. When you arrive for a worship service, please ask an Usher for one. They will be glad to show you how to use it.
