It’s Ok to be Woke

The list of egregious offenses promoted and initiated by the Trump administration is long, but I would argue that the largest assault on Unitarian Universalist values is the branding of “woke” as bad thing. The sermon this Sunday will be an exploration of where the word “woke” comes from, and how awareness of racism, sexism, and homophobia is never a bad thing–indeed it is at the foundation of former principles and our new covenanted values. Join us as we reclaim the word “woke.”

Service begins at 10 a.m. This is a hybrid service. Join us in the sanctuary or log on to Zoom from the comfort of your own home to participate in our worship experience. Service ends at 11 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship.
