“Try a Little Tenderness”

This has been a long, bone wearying year and a half.  We’ve had to endure huge disruptions in our lives.  We’ve learned to live with fear and uncertainty as our new normal.  We are SO ready to get past Covid and get our lives back.  Yet here we are, still having to wear masks as the fall season moves us back indoors in close contact with other people.   Mental illness and anxiety are at an all-time high.  So many of us are feeling impatient and crabby, snapping at other people.  How can we help but bring some crankiness with us to church?  We all need the blessings of our beloved community right now.  But, reopening in-person church back up is feeling stressful as well.  Let us remember how fragile and fried so many of us are right now – myself included. We need the love, the patience, the kindness and comfort of our church. We need to find ways to keep showing up for one another with respect and care, even when we’re bone tired, we’re scared, we’re cranky, we’re feeling overwhelmed.   Love calls us to treat one another with extra tenderness right now.

We will gather for in-person worship at 10:00 a.m. in our sanctuary or, if you prefer — or if you are feeling sick — please continue to log on to Zoom from the comfort and safety of your own home to be a part of our worship experience.

If you are unvaccinated or are not comfortable gathering in person at this time, please plan to log on to Zoom to see the live streaming worship service.
